Heavy snow traps more people in Eastern Europe

Eastern Europe's unrelenting and deadly cold snap produced another heavy snowfall in the Balkans on Saturday, trapping people in their homes and cars, causing power outages, and closing airports, railway stations and bus services. In Bosnia, which woke up to more than three feet (one meter) of...

Melaleuca on a Mission

Melaleuca on a Mission

In December of 1985, Frank Vandersloot and the original Melaleuca team had a vision of helping average people get ahead in life financially. The idea was to create a business model that would take the risk out of starting and owning one's own business, and would not require the purchasing of inventories, or any other major investment, and would allow people the opportunity to market extremely effective, high quality, natural health oriented products, that would help people live more vibrant, healthier, and happier lives.

That was a lofty goal so Melaleuca established a mission statement to help them stay on task. The Melaleuca mission is simple:

To enhance the lives of those we touch, by helping people reach their goals.

The theory was that it was not Melaleuca's business to establish what someone's goals should be, but whatever their financial goals were, it would be Melaleuca's job to help them reach those goals. They did not want to create a "get rich quick scheme," but something that would endure from generation to generation. The business model is based on marketing the absolute, most effective wellness products in the world. Since the beginning, they have partnered with many doctors, scientists, and universities across the world, to make absolutely sure they are leading the world in the science of wellness.

And now, over 20 years since the beginning of Melaleuca, it's very rewarding to look back and evaluate how they've done in accomplishing their mission. These people come from many different backgrounds ranging from school teachers to plumbers, to attorneys to medical doctors, to university professors and more. Helping these people reach their goals is so fun for Frank Vandersloot and the rest of the Melaleuca management team. It's what they do every day.
